英語字母教學作為英語學習的基礎，是小學英語教學中重要一環，學好26個字母對以後單詞的學習起著至關重要的作用。因此，在學習字母階段，我們要利用一切可利用的資源，創設情境，讓學生和字母交朋友、做游戲.
字母教學要從音、形、意和書寫上下功夫。教師一定要根據實際情況、根據學生的年齡特點和心理特點，從學生的學習興趣出發，倡導體驗、實踐、合作與交流的學習方式和任務型教學途徑，用肢體語言讓學生感悟，達到初步運用英語的能力。
一、字母讀音教學
1.注重示範發音的正確性
2.把握學生的發音難點
3.強化個別字母教學
4.注重讀音歸類教學
5.注重語音暗線的鋪墊
二.字母形狀教學
有些字母可以通過猜謎的方法讓學生記住它們的形狀特點。例如：彎彎的月牙（C）、一條小蛇（S）、三叉路口（T）、1加3（B）、一座寶塔（A）、勝利的象徵（V）、大號魚鉤（J）、一張弓（D）、一扇小門（n）、一棵小苗（r）、一把椅子（h）。這些謎語既能讓學生記住字母的形，又能激發學生的學習興趣。同時，還可以讓學生自編謎語學習字母，充分發揮學生的想像能力。另外，還可以將字母的一部份遮住，讓學生根據漏出來部分來猜字母。
三、字母書寫的教學
字母的書寫要從字母的筆順、占格、大、小寫、標點等方面教。
四、活動：可以採用游戲的形式。

猜謎游戲：（根據肢體語言猜單詞）
